2023 RIDE PLAN

Given that the ride has been postponed several times due to drought, fires, a plague, floods and well… more floods - Andy and Lud have preplanned an alternate ride to switch to if 2023 presents similar issues.

Spanning the country from its western most point at Steep Point in Western Australia, to its eastern most point at Cape Byron in New South Wales - the alternate ride will see Andy pedal around 5200km. While shorter than the primary planned ride from north to south, its remoteness and vast distances between supply points will be a massive challenge. Not to mention the over 1000 sand dunes to traverse across the Simpson Desert ! A new fat bike may well be on order.

A decision will be made and communicated in March 2023 whether to proceed with the primary 6551km north to south route or switch to the 5200km west to east route.
